What it actually is
The step between a van and a lorry. Anyone who passed a car test before 1 January 1997 has C1 on their licence already and often does not know it.
What you need to hold
Category C1, and Driver CPC once it is paid work rather than your own goods.
What it does to the money
The lowest of the lorry rates, and the usual way in for somebody moving off vans without paying for a full Class 2 course first.
