What it actually is
You live in the cab from Monday to Friday, sometimes longer. You are paid a night out allowance on top of the wage and you are away from home for the week.
What you need to hold
Class 1 usually, and a tolerance for your own company.
What it does to the money
The headline figure is the highest in general haulage, because it includes night out money. Divide it by the hours you are actually away before you compare it with a day job.
