Write your covering letter
Answer what you can, leave the rest. You get a short, clear letter in the form British employers expect, which you can change before you use it. Nothing you type is sent anywhere: the letter is written on this site, by fixed rules, not by a chatbot.
Three things that make a covering letter work
- Short. Three short paragraphs. The person reading has forty more.
- Facts, not adjectives. "No accidents in four years" says more than "hard working and reliable".
- The right ending. Formal: Yours sincerely to a named person, Yours faithfully to Dear Hiring Manager, and the writer picks it for you. Or choose the friendlier Kind regards or Best regards, which most small employers use themselves.
