Night shift jobs
Nights in warehouses, driving, care homes, security, cleaning and production. Every advert shows the pay, and applying is free.
None of these are live today. We are a new board and adverts arrive every week. Set an alert and we email you the day one goes up, or see every job.
The rules on night work
- No more than 8 hours in 24, on average. Under the Working Time Regulations 1998, a night worker's normal hours should average no more than 8 in every 24, usually worked out over 17 weeks.
- A free health assessment. Your employer must offer you a free health assessment before you start nights, and regularly after that.
- A night premium is not a legal right. Many employers pay more for nights, but the law does not require it. The minimum wage applies to every hour. Compare adverts on the pay they actually state.
- Rest between shifts. Adults are entitled to 11 hours' rest between working days and a weekly rest of 24 hours (or 48 hours a fortnight). Drivers have their own hours rules: see know your lorry.
- Under 18? Young workers generally cannot work nights. There are a few narrow exceptions, such as some hospital and hotel work.
