5 questions before you send your CV anywhere

5 questions before you send your CV anywhere: Does the advert show the pay? Who will see my CV? Is the company real? Am I being asked to pay anything? Does my CV use the advert's words?
  1. Does the advert show the pay?
Competitive salary is not a figure. Every advert on HIRING UK has to show one.
  2. Who will see my CV?
Only the employer you applied to, or a database that recruiters pay to search? Read the site's own words on it.
  3. Is the company real?
Look it up on Companies House: it is free and takes a minute. A real employer has a real name and address.
  4. Am I being asked to pay anything?
Never pay to apply, for training to get the job, or for a uniform up front. In the UK an agency cannot charge you for finding work.
  5. Does my CV use the advert's words?
If the advert says C+E, CPC and ADR, your CV should say them too, near the top.

These are ordinary links. No Facebook like widget, no follow widget and no tracking pixel, because those load somebody else's script and start watching you before you press anything. Nothing leaves this page unless you choose to send it.
