“Better a verst of the wrong road than a span of danger.”
Finnish proverb (Parempi virsta vaaraa kuin vaaksa vaaraa). A verst is about a kilometre; a span is a hand's width.
Drivers and site workers: the longer, safer way is always the right way. No delivery is worth an accident.
